Once a note looks good, Vero gives you four ways to get it out — copy it to your clipboard, download a PDF or Word file, or print a hard copy. Formatting like headings, bold, lists, and tables is preserved wherever possible so the note lands cleanly in your EMR.
Copy to clipboard
The fastest way to move a note into an EMR. Look for the copy icon in the toolbar above the note. Click it, then paste (Cmd+V on Mac, Ctrl+V on Windows) into any EMR text field.
Vero copies the note to your clipboard in two formats at the same time:
Rich text — paste into Word, Gmail, or an EMR that accepts formatting, and your headings, bold text, and lists will carry over.
Plain text — paste into a plain text field, and the note comes through as clean unformatted text with no hidden characters.
Whichever field you paste into picks the format that fits — you don't have to pick it yourself.
Changing the default copy format
If your EMR only accepts one format or you prefer to always copy as plain text, open the dropdown next to the copy icon and pick HTML (formatted) or Plain text. Your choice is remembered on this browser.
Download as PDF
For records, printing, or sharing a polished copy with a patient or colleague.
Click the share icon in the toolbar.
Choose Export as PDF.
The file downloads to your computer, named
Note_YYYY-MM-DD.pdf.
Formatting — headings, bold, italics, lists, tables, horizontal rules — is preserved.
Download as Word (.docx)
For EMRs or workflows that accept Word documents, or if you need to make further edits.
Click the share icon in the toolbar.
Choose Export as Word.
The file downloads as
Note_YYYY-MM-DD.docx.
For a paper copy or to use the browser's built-in "Save as PDF" printer.
Click the share icon → Print
Or press
Cmd+P(Mac) /Ctrl+P(Windows) anywhere on the note page.
Tips
Pasting into Epic, Cerner, or other EMRs? The copy button is usually the cleanest option — Vero sends both rich and plain text so the EMR takes whichever it prefers.
Formatting looks off after paste? Your EMR may only accept plain text. Switch the copy format dropdown to Plain text and try again. Or try it the other way to see if it works better.
Want to double-check what the final note looks like before it leaves Vero? Use Print and preview — the PDF export uses the same layout.
You are responsible for reviewing any note before it goes into the medical record. Vero is a documentation aid, not a medical device — always read the note end to end before exporting or pasting it into an EMR.
Something not working?
"Failed to generate PDF/Word document" toast: Try again in a moment. If it keeps failing, your note may be unusually large — try exporting a shorter section, or email us.
Copy button didn't seem to do anything: Your browser may be blocking clipboard access. Make sure Vero is open in a focused tab and try again.
PDF/Word download blocked: Check your browser's download settings — some browsers prompt the first time.
