Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) adds a second layer of security to your Vero account. When MFA is on, signing in requires both your password and a one-time code from an authenticator app.
Before You Start
Install a TOTP-compatible authenticator app on your phone or laptop. Common options include Google Authenticator, Authy, 1Password, Microsoft Authenticator, or another TOTP authenticator.
Vero does not currently support SMS codes, passkeys, or hardware security keys.
Enabling MFA
Open Account from the left sidebar.
Go to Security.
In the Sign-in section, click Enable MFA.
A QR code will appear. Open your authenticator app and scan it. If your app cannot scan a QR code, copy the setup key and enter it manually.
Enter the current 6-digit code from your authenticator app and click Verify.
MFA is now active on your account.
Signing in with MFA
Enter your email and password as usual.
When prompted, enter the 6-digit code from your authenticator app.
Codes rotate every 30 seconds. If the code is about to refresh, wait for the next one before entering it.
Turning Off MFA
Open Account → Security.
Click Disable MFA.
Enter the current 6-digit code from your authenticator app to confirm.
MFA is now off. You can re-enable it at any time.
If You Lose Your Phone or Authenticator
Vero does not currently offer self-service MFA recovery. If you lose access to your authenticator app, email [email protected] from the email address on your Vero account. Our team will verify your identity and reset MFA so you can sign in and enroll a new device.
Avoid getting locked out. Use an authenticator app that syncs across devices, or migrate your MFA entries before changing phones.
Common Questions
Does MFA cost extra? No. It is available to all Vero users.
Will I be prompted every time I sign in? You will be prompted when signing in from a new browser session. Staying signed in on a trusted device does not re-prompt.
Can I enroll more than one authenticator? Not currently. Only one authenticator can be enrolled at a time.
Does MFA work on mobile? Yes. The sign-in flow is the same on every device.
