You already know how you want your notes to read. Learn lets you show Vero: edit a generated note, click Learn, and turn a clear preference into an improvement to the template behind your future notes.
Vero identifies the reusable preferences in your edits and turns them into template instructions for future notes. Each update is saved as a version you can review, refine, or undo.
How to use Learn
Edit a generated note. Wait for generation to finish, then make a clear change you want to reuse in future notes.
Click Learn in the note toolbar. If prompted, select Learn changes to use your own copy of the template.
Review the result. A Learned message means Vero saved an update. Open Templates and use the Version menu to see it. Future notes using that template use the updated instructions.
A simple example
If Vero writes a history as bullets and you prefer a paragraph, rewrite that section and click Learn. Vero can turn the demonstrated preference into template instructions for future histories, using each new encounter’s own information.
Learn can recognize preferences across several parts of a note:
Structure: Your preferred headings, section order, and grouping of information.
Formatting: Paragraphs or bullets, list markers, spacing, and how values are presented.
Writing style: Consistently shorter phrasing, sentence fragments, or full sentences, while preserving the meaning.
Terminology: Equivalent wording or abbreviations demonstrated in the relevant section.
Finishing touches: Your signature or reusable administrative closing text.
A clear formatting change may be shown in one example. Broader changes, such as writing style or section structure, are easier to learn when your edits demonstrate the same preference consistently across the affected statements or sections.
Review or undo a change
Open your template in Templates. In the Version menu, updates made by Learn are marked Learned.
Review: Open a saved version to see the template instructions.
Refine: Edit the template directly and click Save.
Undo: Choose an earlier version, review it, then click Save to use it for future notes.
Selecting an earlier version only previews it. Restoring it does not change notes you have already created.
Frequently asked questions
What changed from the previous Learn?
What changed from the previous Learn?
Previously, Learn saved notes as examples. It now saves reusable changes directly in your template. The old Learned toggle and View Learned panel have been replaced by template editing and version history.
Do I need to update or migrate my templates?
Do I need to update or migrate my templates?
No. The changeover updates templates automatically; you do not need to take any action or run a migration yourself. Reusable preferences from the previous Learn are incorporated into the updated template.
Review the template if your notes look different. You can select a previous version, review it, and select Save to make it active again. If you need help, continue in the in-app support chat. Fin can explain version recovery and suggest template instructions you can review and apply.
Can I go back to an earlier template version?
Can I go back to an earlier template version?
Open the template in Templates.
Select Version and choose the earlier version number.
Review the template, then select Save to use it for future notes.
Selecting a version only previews it. Restoring a template does not rewrite notes you have already created. Fin can help you understand the steps or suggest an adjustment you can review and save yourself.
What happens with a shared template?
What happens with a shared template?
If you own it, Learn updates it directly. Otherwise, Vero asks before creating a personal copy and leaves the shared original unchanged. A new copy is created only when a reusable change is found, then added to your library and made your default. If you already have a Learn copy, Vero updates that copy.
Why is Learn unavailable?
Why is Learn unavailable?
Wait for the note to finish loading or generating, then make a new edit. Learn supports text note templates, not PDF forms, and requires an active plan or remaining free usage.
What does “No reusable change found” mean?
What does “No reusable change found” mean?
Your template was not changed. The edit may be specific to this patient, already covered by the template, or unclear. Try a clear formatting or style change, or edit the template directly.
Does Learn change my current note?
Does Learn change my current note?
No. Learn updates the template for future notes. It does not regenerate or replace the note you edited. Deleting the encounter does not undo the template update.
Does Learn train a general AI model?
Does Learn train a general AI model?
No. Learn updates your template. For Vero’s policy on AI and patient data, see Privacy Overview.
How does Learn decide what to save?
How does Learn decide what to save?
Vero compares the original note, your edited version, and the template, using encounter context to distinguish reusable preferences from corrections specific to that visit.
It identifies the preference demonstrated by the edit and proposes a focused template change.
A separate AI review checks the proposed update; additional checks look for newly introduced patient details and unintended loss of template content.
An accepted update is saved as a new version marked Learned.
An unclear, already-covered, or encounter-specific edit may leave the template unchanged. Vero can also apply only the reusable part of a larger edit.
What if I need help with my template?
What if I need help with my template?
Ask Fin in the in-app support chat for help with the template. Describe the change you want, the expected result, and the template version; use a short de-identified example when useful. Fin can explain the steps and suggest instructions you can review and apply. If the issue remains unresolved or needs account-side work, a teammate can help in the same conversation. You can also ask for a person at any time. For specific Learn messages, see Errors & Template Issues.
