A Vero encounter keeps the source material and note for one patient visit together. You can create your first note from a recording, typed context, uploaded files, or any combination of these.
1. Start a new encounter
Choose where to start based on whether you want a patient attached:
From the main sidebar: select New Encounter to start without a patient attached, even if you were viewing a patient or one of their earlier notes. The quick-start button beside it begins with your most recently used workflow.
From a patient profile: open Patients, select the existing patient, then select New Encounter within their profile. Vero links the new encounter to that patient.
Attaching a patient is optional. To link an encounter you have already started, use the patient control near the encounter title and select the existing profile. Confirm the correct patient before recording or creating the note. See Patient Profiles for linking and troubleshooting.
2. Add the visit information
Use one or more of the following:
Record: Select Record in the bar at the bottom of the encounter to capture and transcribe the visit or your dictation.
Type: Add details, pasted context, or instructions directly in the encounter.
Upload: Add supported documents, images, or audio files that Vero should use as context.
3. Choose a template
Use the template selector in the recording bar to choose the note format you want. To browse or create templates, select Templates in the left sidebar.
4. Create and review the note
Select Create. Vero drafts the note from the selected template and the information available in the encounter.
Always review the complete note before adding it to the medical record or sharing it with a patient. Correct any missing, inaccurate, or outdated information.
You can edit the generated note directly or ask Vero Chat for a specific revision.
5. Export the finished note
When the note is ready, use the note toolbar to copy it into your EMR or export it using the available PDF, Word, print, or email options.
Frequently asked questions
Can I work on two patients at the same time?
Vero keeps each patient's work in a separate encounter. You can create an encounter for each patient and switch between them after stopping any active recording.
Vero does not currently support recording two patient encounters simultaneously or attaching two patients to the same chat or encounter.
To avoid mixing information, confirm the patient name before recording, generating, or editing a note.
