Pop Up Window

Record, type notes, and upload or drag in documents from a small window while you work outside the Vero tab.

What the Pop Up Window Does

The Pop Up Window opens a small encounter window while you are recording and working outside the main Vero tab. It keeps the most important encounter tools close by, so you can keep documenting without switching back and forth.

Use it to type or paste notes more easily, upload files, drag documents into the encounter, record audio, choose a template, and create the note when you are ready.

The Pop Up Window is available in supported desktop browsers. If your browser does not support it, Vero continues to work in the normal encounter page.

When It Opens and Minimizes

Vero opens the Pop Up Window automatically when all of these are true:

  • You are in an encounter.

  • Recording is active.

  • The Pop Up Window setting is turned on.

  • Your desktop browser supports pop-up encounter windows.

  • You move away from the Vero tab, such as by switching tabs, minimizing the browser, or working in another app.

When you return to the Vero tab, the Pop Up Window minimizes back to the main encounter. Vero keeps your latest typed context, uploaded files, and recording state synced.

The Pop Up Window also minimizes when you click Create to generate the note.

Use the Pop Up Window

In the Pop Up Window, you can:

  • Type or paste notes before, during, or after a visit.

  • Upload files, including images, PDFs, audio files, Word documents, and scanned notes.

  • Drag documents into the window to add them as encounter context.

  • Record audio or pause and resume an active recording.

  • Watch audio activity so you can confirm Vero is still listening.

  • Choose a template before creating the note.

  • Create the note when you are ready.

Close or Return to the Tab

You can leave the Pop Up Window in a few ways:

  • Go back to the Vero tab. The Pop Up Window will minimize back to the main encounter.

  • Click Create. Vero will minimize the Pop Up Window and continue creating the note from the encounter context.

  • Click the X at the top of the window to close it.

  • Click the arrow at the top of the window to bring the encounter back to the Vero tab.

Turn the Pop Up Window On or Off

  1. Open Settings.

  2. Under Preferences, select Picture-in-picture.

  3. Toggle the Pop Up Window switch.

The setting is enabled by default.

Supported Browsers

The Pop Up Window depends on desktop browser support. Supported desktop browsers include Chrome, Edge, Firefox, and Opera. Browser support can vary by version, device policy, and privacy settings.

Troubleshooting

The Pop Up Window Does Not Open

  • Confirm recording is active before you leave the Vero tab.

  • Open Settings > Picture-in-picture and make sure the setting is turned on.

  • Use a supported desktop browser and update it to the latest version.

  • If your organization manages browser permissions, ask your IT team whether pop-up windows are restricted.

The Window Minimized When I Returned to Vero

That is expected. Vero minimizes the Pop Up Window when the main tab becomes active again, then keeps your encounter context synced in the full editor.

I Want to Upload or Drag In Documents

Use Upload files inside the Pop Up Window, or drag supported files directly into the window. These files are added to the encounter context and can be used when you create the note.
