Telehealth Mode lets Vero capture and transcribe both sides of a virtual visit — your voice and your patient's voice — so your note reflects the full conversation, not just your side of it.
What is Telehealth Mode?
When you turn Telehealth Mode on, Vero records two audio streams at the same time:
Your microphone — exactly like a normal in-person encounter.
Your telehealth call tab — the audio coming from Zoom, Google Meet, Doxy, Teams, or any other desktop based or browser-based video platform.
Both streams are transcribed in real time and combined into a single encounter, so your generated note includes everything the patient said as well as everything you said.
When to use it: Any video visit running on your desktop or browser — Zoom, Google Meet, Doxy.me, Microsoft Teams, Webex, or your EMR's built-in telehealth tool.
How to Enable Telehealth Mode
Open or start a new encounter in Vero.
In the recording bar at the bottom of the encounter, click the waveform icon on the left (it has a small ^ chevron) to open the Settings panel.
Toggle Telehealth Mode on.
Click Record.
A short setup dialog titled "Share Patient Audio" will appear. Click Continue.
Your browser will open its share prompt. Pick the tab that's running your telehealth call.
Check the "Also share tab audio" box at the bottom of the browser prompt.
Click Share.
The setup dialog has a "Don't show again" checkbox. Tick it once you're comfortable with the steps and Vero will skip straight to the browser prompt next time.
Tips
Toggle before recording. Telehealth Mode has to be on before you click Record — the toggle is disabled during an active recording.
You can turn it off between sessions. If a visit moves from video to phone, stop the recording, open Settings, turn Telehealth Mode off, and record again with just your microphone.
It resets per encounter. Telehealth Mode is per-visit — start each new encounter by opening Settings and toggling it on again.
Use a good headset. Echo cancellation and noise suppression are enabled automatically, but a headset still produces the cleanest transcript.
Common Questions
I clicked Share but Vero isn't picking up the patient — what happened?
You likely missed the "Also share tab audio" checkbox in the browser prompt. Stop the recording, open Settings, toggle Telehealth Mode off and back on, and start again — this time tick the box before clicking Share.
Can I use Telehealth Mode with the Zoom desktop app?
Yes — Vero captures audio from a desktop or browser tab.
Does Telehealth Mode work on my phone or iPad?
Not currently. The underlying browser API for sharing tab audio is only available on desktop Chrome and Edge.
Will my patient know their audio is being shared with Vero?
Vero is capturing audio locally from your desktop or browser tab — there is no extra participant added to your call. As with any clinical recording, you should obtain consent from your patient before recording.
Is Telehealth Mode included in my plan?
Yes — it's available to all Vero users on every plan, including the free trial.
