Memory

Save and manage preferences about Vero's communication and non-document workflows, and choose the right place for reusable note rules.

Memory saves durable preferences about how Vero communicates with you or helps with non-document workflows. Reusable rules for generated notes belong in templates.

Keep Memory non-patient-specific. Patient facts belong in the patient profile or encounter. Memory does not choose a template or set up encounters for you.

What to remember

  • “Remember to keep your explanations to me brief.”

  • “When answering my questions in chat, explain unfamiliar technical terms.”

  • “Use a concise, professional tone when replying to me.”

Save a preference

  1. Open Vero Chat.

  2. Ask Vero to remember a preference about its replies to you or a non-document workflow. Make the target clear: a writing preference stated while a note is open may be treated as an edit to that note.

  3. Check that Vero confirms the preference was saved.

Update, list, or forget memories

You can manage Memory in natural language through Vero Chat:

  • List memories – “What do you remember about my preferences?”

  • Update a memory – “Update my preference about your explanations to include more detail.”

  • Forget a memory – “Forget my preference for brief chat replies.”

You can also review and delete saved memories from Settings → Memory.

Frequently asked questions

Why did Vero change my template when I said “remember”?

A rule for future document content or presentation belongs in the template, even if you say “remember” or “always.” For example, “Always write the plan as short paragraphs” is a template rule. A broad preference for more or less detail across future notes uses the note-detail setting first. Use Settings → Note Settings to manage broad defaults.

Can older note-formatting memories still affect my notes?

Yes. Previously saved preferences can still influence note generation and can take priority over templates. If a note keeps following an outdated preference, review Settings → Memory. Put the desired reusable rule in the relevant template, then remove the conflicting old memory.

Can Memory choose templates or automate app actions?

No. Select the template before creating a note. Memory does not switch templates, preset future encounters, create or attach patients, create tasks by itself, or change Note Settings.

What should not be saved as Memory?

  • Patient names, identifiers, demographics, diagnoses, medications, or other patient facts.

  • Details or instructions that apply only to the current encounter.

  • Clinical guidelines or evidence that should be checked against current sources.

How are saved preferences grouped?

New memories use Preference, Workflow, or Communication. Older saved items may still show Formatting. That label does not mean new note-formatting rules should be saved as Memory.

What if my preference changes?

Ask Vero to update or forget the existing preference. Review saved preferences periodically under Settings → Memory to avoid conflicting or outdated instructions.
